I finally took the plunge and bought my first Burberry Beauty item, the Rosewood Lip Cover. I kept putting it off, waiting for the fall release of the same color in the lip mist and unsure if I wanted to plunk down the greens or not. I was especially hesitant knowing that said item was sure to make me want to plunk down a field of greens on future items… but down the rabbit hole I went anyways. Sure enough, I found myself lemming more. The packaging is to die for–weighty gunmetal with their iconic plaid embossed on the case, it makes the item feel special. The lipstick itself is creamy and covers well in one swipe. There is a faint fruity floral scent that dissipates quickly upon wear. The color is perfection–a rosy brown that most everyone can pull off. It translates on me true to their original promo image and is my new go-to color.
Within a few days of said lippie purchase, I was back on the Nordstrom site to pick up the eyeshadows (it’s a sickness). So much for my paring down the makeup stash… le sigh. I decided to stick with the items from the original promo image (they’ve come out with so much since but this was still my favorite look). I purchased Trench (wash) and Almond (crease) to pair with my Bobbi Brown Caviar (line). The look was perfection, polished and understated. The texture of the shadows is like buttah and there is only a slight sheen which adds to the overall finish for me. I like my MAC Brule, but Trench just seems to melt into my skin in a way that Brule doesn’t. I think I feel a shake up in the staples coming on.
